Ballet Pre-Primary & Primary Mixed

Your dancer has reached school age and is ready for a little more structure in their ballet class. We continue to use the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for our lessons, which encourages a great deal of creativity while developing the foundations of a classical ballet technique.

We make sure we maintain the fun and energy of our younger classes and use a range of music (such as popular, jazz and classical music) to inspire them.

Your ballerina or danseur will begin to learn the ballet basic positions such as 1st position, and steps such as skipping, jumping and galloping. The jumps, hops, springs, and leaps become more rhythmical and they will learn to perform these with a lightness and stretch through the legs and feet.

The young performer in your family is now approaching the stage where they can take their first ballet exam should they choose to. Hills Ballet School likes to offer the option of ballet exams to your youngster because we find that studying towards an exam not only inspires them to work towards achieving a goal but also encourages them to practise and perfect the steps.
